so there's been loose talks about setting up a membermeet this summer

would be a friday-saturday-sunday thing (friday-saturday for those who can make it) cause some people have to work
as for the city there were talks about amsterdam, dutchia.. but if somebody else could name a city that's fun too, not too far away for german/uk(/scandinavian?) people we could discuss that too
if you can offer a place to crash it would obviously be a big benefit to the city you're proposing

Small possibility I could provide a house in Durham, UK (It's in the North East near Newcastle). I'd have to check with the landlord though.

You can get to it easily by train from London, and there's a port in Newcastle which takes boats from Stavanger and some other places.
